Position Summary

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the dealership’s showroom, offices, restrooms, and shop areas. This role ensures a welcoming environment for customers and a clean, safe workspace for employees. The Custodian will perform routine cleaning tasks, minor maintenance duties, and support special cleaning projects throughout the dealership.

Key Responsibilities

Showroom & Office Cleaning

· Clean and sanitize customer areas, offices, waiting rooms, and common spaces.

· Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all showroom and office floors and surfaces.

· Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners.

· Clean windows, glass doors, office partitions, and display areas.

· Maintain a professional, polished appearance throughout all customer-facing spaces.

Shop & Service Area Cleaning

· Sweep and clean shop floors, technician work areas, and bay entrances.

· Remove debris, used parts, and trash from the shop safely and efficiently.

· Clean and restock technician and shop restrooms.

· Assist with maintaining clean breakrooms, locker rooms, and tool storage areas.

· Pressure‑wash or scrub shop areas as needed.

· Clean and detail vehicles as assigned.

Restrooms & Breakroom Maintenance

· Clean and sanitize all restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, counters, and floors.

· Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and sanitizer.

· Clean and disinfect breakrooms, tables, countertops, and appliances.

Building & Grounds Support

· Maintain cleanliness at entrances, sidewalks, and customer parking areas.

· Remove trash from exterior receptacles and pick up litter around the building.

· Assist with snow/ice removal or outdoor upkeep as needed (location dependent).

· Support special cleaning projects such as carpet cleaning, floor waxing, or deep cleaning tasks.

Supplies & Equipment Handling

· Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management of needed reorders.

· Safely use cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, pressure washers, and mops.

· Follow all safety procedures, PPE guidelines, and chemical handling protocols.

Education & Experience Required

· High school diploma or GED.

· Previous custodial, janitorial, or facility cleaning experience.

· Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Preferred

· Experience in an automotive or truck dealership environment.

· Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment.

· Basic knowledge of safety and chemical handling procedures.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

· Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout the facility.

· Exposure to shop environment, including noise, tools, and equipment.

· May work indoors and outdoors depending on project needs.

· Must be able to safely navigate shop floors and large equipment areas.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
