Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Repair & Restoration
- Perform structural and non-structural repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, welding, and frame straightening.
- Conduct vehicle disassembly and reassembly to properly diagnose and repair damage.
- Use body fillers, sanding techniques, and refinishing processes to achieve factory-quality finishes.
- Perform aluminum polishing and finishing tasks, including surface preparation, buffing and polishing aluminum components using appropriate tools and materials to achieve required appearance and quality standards.
- Repair or replace vehicle parts such as bumpers, fenders, doors, hoods, and body panels.
- Inspect vehicles during and after repairs to ensure quality standards and safety compliance.
Technical & Diagnostic Work
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment including welders, frame machines, paint systems, and diagnostic instruments.
- Identify hidden damage and document additional repairs needed for estimates.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and repair procedures.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all repairs meet OEM, I-CAR, and shop quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and safety protocols, especially when handling chemicals and equipment.
Customer & Team Interaction
- Collaborate with estimators, painters, and other technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
- Communicate repair status or concerns to supervisors as needed.
- Support a positive customer experience through quality workmanship and professional conduct.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a collision repair or automotive technology program preferred.
- 2 years of experience in body shop or collision repair work preferred.
Certifications (Preferred)
- I-CAR Gold Class or individual I-CAR certifications.
- ASE Collision Repair certifications.
- Welding certifications.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of automotive body repair techniques and materials.
- Ability to read repair orders, technical manuals, and OEM procedures.
- Skilled in welding, sanding, painting prep, and tool operation.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Exposure to noise, chemicals, and shop equipment.
- Use of PPE including respirators, gloves, and safety glasses.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced shop environment with frequent hands-on work.
- May involve overtime or weekend hours based on customer volume.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
