We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Banquet Chef to join our culinary team at Martin's West.
Position Summary
The Banquet Chef is responsible for overseeing banquet food production and execution while maintaining the highest standards of quality, presentation, sanitation, and efficiency. This leadership position requires strong culinary expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume kitchen in a fast-paced catering environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of three (3) years of banquet or catering kitchen experience
- Extensive knowledge of banquet food production and execution
- Strong culinary and food safety skills
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication abilities
- The ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining exceptional quality
- Availability to work a schedule that meets the needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
Responsibilities
- Supervise banquet food production from preparation through execution
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Lead and mentor kitchen staff while maintaining a positive team environment
- Maintain compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards
- Coordinate food preparation to ensure timely service for all events
- Monitor inventory and assist with food ordering and cost control
- Uphold Martin's Caterers' culinary systems, standards, and operating procedures
