Duties
- Supervise daily powder coating operations, including preparation, application, and curing of finishes on metal parts.
- Coordinate with production teams to meet quality standards and production schedules while maintaining safety protocols.
- Train and mentor team members on proper use of hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and other finishing techniques.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials, including powders, paints, and substrates, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify coating thickness and finish quality.
- Maintain equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and fabrication tools; perform routine maintenance or coordinate repairs as needed.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency in the coating process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing or industrial painting environments with knowledge of industrial painting is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes; certification is a plus.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to streamline operations and improve productivity.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with machining and assembly processes is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment. - Pay is $20-$25 per hour depending on experience level
