About Us: Martin House Gallery is a charming, eclectic, and unpretentiously elegant fine art gallery nestled in the heart of Blowing Rock, NC; owned and curated by longtime arts advocate and collector Michael Gaydon. We represent celebrated artists from around the World and host immersive exhibitions that blur the line between art and experience.
The Role: You’re the glue. The multitasking magician. The social-savvy, document-wrangling, art-loving assistant who helps us stay fabulous and functional. Your tasks will include:
- Running point on social media & web: Create engaging posts, update our Shopify-based site, and keep our online presence as vibrant as our gallery walls. Canva wizards welcome.
- Keeping the books in check: Track expenses, manage invoices, and reconcile client statements, while keeping us organized.
- In-gallery magic: Greet guests, help with show installations and events, and occasionally wield a tape measure while cracking a good joke.
- Client & artist interaction: Be warm, responsive, and professional; with a sense of humor and the grace to pivot when things get interesting
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Tech-savvy and a bit of a Canva or content creation nerd
- Comfortable with light accounting/bookkeeping
- A great communicator; on email, in-person, and across social platforms
- Adaptable, reliable, and cool under pressure
- Has a sharp eye, clever brain, and maybe a favorite artist or two
- Bonus if you have experience in retail, hospitality, or creative fields
Details:
- Pay: $15–$20/hr based on experience
- Schedule: Part-time (flexible shifts, approx. 4 hours/day)
- Bonuses: Yes, for exceptional performance & sales
- Travel: Occasional event support may require travel (50% preferred)
- Commute: Must be able to reliably get to Blowing Rock, NC
- Work Location: In-person, in-gallery
- Education: High school or equivalent preferred
