This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repair, and service of fleet trucks and heavy equipment.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
- Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- Ensure all repairs and preventative maintenance is completed according to the manufacture's specifications and guidelines.
- Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Perform servicing company vehicles and equipment according to company procedures as required.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Identify and report vehicle and machine damage, safety concerns and malfunctions to supervisor.
- Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
- Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
- Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with drivers, operators, and technicians.
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
- Inspects equipment conditions (wear, alignment, function, etc) and monitors oil flow and temperature observing gauges to measure performance.
- Ability to do basic math.
- Must have a valid Class A CDL driver's license.
