Job Summary:
Reporting to the Development Department Manager, the Development and Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing all MV Community Services (MVCS) fundraising events and coordinate the administrative responsibilities of the Marketing and Development Department. This position works closely with administration, leadership, and staff across the organization to develop, implement and manage the organization's events strategies in line with the strategic goals of the organization. The Development and Events Coordinator is also responsible for administrative functions in support of the DMC team—including gift entry and acknowledgment, administrative support for committees and subcommittees. This position may manage staff and have budget responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions *):
- Serves as principal staffing to Possible Dreams and oversees all agency components*:
- Primary Liaison to committee, ensuring successful event planning.
- Entry and processing of donations and auction items.
- Manages additional agency events with high-level of competence and success*:
- Provide leadership and coordination for Possible Dreams, including lead staff support for Possible Dreams committee, vendor selection and management, volunteer recruitment, and sponsor communications. Complete follow up activities related to dream delivery and financial close out.
- Work collaboratively with members of the Board of Directors, community volunteers, vendors, staff in second positions, and more, to deliver successful events
- Provide direction to Summer Development Assistant, as applicable, related to Possible Dreams and other event support.
- Provide leadership and coordination of the Vineyard Charity Golf Outing in partnership with the Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard.
- Coordinate other MVCS events including Electronics Disposal Day, Round the Vineyard Challenge, and other events created by the Coordinator or that emerge within the organization
- Prepare revenue and expense budgets for each event; track and report performance.
- Actively coordinates the administrative responsibilities of the Marketing and Development Department*:
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Development Department Manager and other members of the DMC team.
- Ensures all donations are appropriately entered into the MVCS donor management system
- Ensures appropriate acknowledgements and associated reports are generated in timely fashion.
- Coordinate regular committee and sub-committee meetings, including Team links and meeting minutes.
- Inventory, ordering, and tracking of office supplies and marketing collateral.
- Organize and maintain digital files—Google Drive, Microsoft Team./ SharePoint Files, shared MVCS internal drives, etc.
- Serve as backup support for the following digital functions:
- Mailchimp email system
- Social media posting
- OneCause Fundraising & Event platform setup and management
- Others, as applicable
- Work with Development Department Manager and Capital Campaign Officer to execute small donor gatherings and similar-type events
- Process and track Purchase Requests for Development Department Manager approval.
- Competently supports all media relations*:
- Prepare and distribute press releases, fact sheets, press kits, tip sheets, etc. regarding activities and new initiatives.
- Support media relations and marketing coordination as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in event management or similar management role
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and overall technological competence. Ability to learn donor software and other technologies used by the Department.
- Ability to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to self-manage workload volumes and changing priorities in a team spirited environment with a strong results-oriented focus.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills including writing, editing and proofreading.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong capacity to work independently, apply supervision, and deliver on department goals without routine monitoring and supervision
- Willing to comply with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Donor Bill of Rights and Code of Ethical Principles and Standards; maintain confidentiality.
- Available to work outside regular business hours when required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
