What is Martha Lloyd Community Services?

Martha Lloyd opened as a boarding school in 1928. The school provided structure, a family like environment, and community for individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. MLCS has since grown and continues to provide opportunities and lifestyle choices for persons with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. These services include adult day services, senior services, life sharing, residential facilities, and our Copper Tree Program.

Job Description:

• Assists individuals with daily activities, transportation, community participation and involvement, and individualized programs, including supervision needs, health and safety risks, and nutritional/medical needs;
• Completes and maintains all required trainings and certifications;
• Intervenes and redirects individuals who are demonstrating behaviors according to their individualized program plan;
• Supports individuals, but also encourages independence, with daily hygiene, showering/bathing, toileting, washing hands, etc.
• Assists, and encourages independence, with planning, creation, and cooking of meals, and prepares meals according to individualized diets;
• Ensures a clean and safe environment through the completion of daily chores, including laundry, dishes, organizing and cleaning common areas, bathrooms, and bedrooms;
• Documents the completion of daily chores/tasks, hygiene, goals and outings, behaviors, medical records and concerns, amongst other necessary information;
• Maintains the confidentiality and privacy of our individuals;
• Communicates with supervisors, team members, and any other essential personnel about individuals’ daily needs, choices and rights, and concerns, and advocating for the individual in a timely manner.

Positions/Schedules:

Substitute: Employee with no permanent shifts, are on an “as needed” basis. Position allows for employee to have a flexible schedule.

Part-Time: Employee with permanent hours that total 37 hours or less.

Full-Time: Employee with permanent hours between 37.5 and 40 hours.

Weekend Shifts Available, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd;

Weekday Overnight Shifts Available.

Job Requirements and Skills

Requirements

• Possess a Valid Driver’s License
• Satisfactory DMV Background Check
• Satisfactory physical evaluation and tuberculin screening
• 90-day successful completion of introductory review
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to work on weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather.
