Job Description
Education/ Experience: High school graduate or equivalent plus two years of specialized formal training in electrical and electronic repair or mechanical repair. Four years experience in the repair and maintenance of complex electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and components required. Must have technical knowledge of maintenance methods, procedures, and manpower planning. Must possess excellent telephone communication, written, analytical and organizational skills. Must possess public relations skills in dealing with MARTA employee complaints. Must possess a detailed understanding of the various work and customer relations interface to which the MARTA organization is exposed. Experience in the operation of personal computers in a spreadsheet, word processing and database environment required. Experience using a computerized maintenance management information system is required. Must have or obtain within 30 days, a Wayside level 3 access certification. In lieu of specialized formal training directly related electronic repair experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis.
Summary: Uses standardized methods for planning maintenance activities of employees who inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair MARTA buildings, station facilities, elevators and escalators and support equipment. Uses a computerized maintenance management system to generate and compile and analyze all maintenance service requests and work orders, work backlog, labor cost, equipment replacement, and other maintenance related data. Employee generates several reports that outline the effectiveness of the controlled maintenance environment for review by upper management. Performs work that affects business operations to a substantial degree.

- Uses standardized methods for planning maintenance activities of employees who inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair MARTA buildings, station facilities, elevators and escalators and support equipment. Receives maintenance request and inquiries from all MARTA Departments via phone, email or online in Accordance with established policy.
- From the maintenance request, initiates work orders and work requests; tracks maintenance projects to completion and advises inquirer of completion.
- Uses a computerized maintenance management system to compile and analyze all maintenance work orders, labor costs, equipment replacement, and other maintenance related data. Closes and completes work orders in accordance with branch's procedures.
- Generates several reports that outline the effectiveness of the controlled maintenance environment for review by upper management. Specific such as: number of inquiries, number of service requests/work orders, requests completed, work orders remaining open, categories of requests, ages of work requests open, and other reports as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
