INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
Education/ Experiencer: High school education or equivalent and completion of a formalized electrical/electronic training program, and a minimum of six years of electrical experience in the maintenance of high and medium voltage AC and DC power systems.
NOTE: This posting is to fill the current vacancy and to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies that may occur in the next 6 months.

Summary: Under general supervision, assigns work to and supervises the activities of maintenance employees involved in the maintenance, repair, and installation of traction, auxiliary, and emergency power systems, electrical distribution equipment, lighting systems, and other related electrical systems. Coordinates daily operation, plans, monitors and evaluates subordinates' performance and provides direct technical assistance to work teams. Conducts maintenance checks, monitors inventory levels and may coordinate the acquisition of supplies, equipment and services from outside contractors. Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business. Performs work that affects business operations to a substantial degree.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Electrical contractor Class 2 unrestricted license preferred. Must have a Commercial Driver's License or minimally possess a CDL permit (successfully have passed the written portion of the CDL exam). Employees will be required to obtain their CDL license within 90 days following employment.

- Assigns work to and supervises unit employees. Ensures day-to-day activities, in support of unit work goals, are completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner within established policies and procedures.
- Coaches personnel on proper performance of work, frequently providing direct technical assistance.
- Plans, monitors, evaluates and develops employee performance to maximize employee potential and maintain a high performance environment.
- Maintains up-to-date records on computerized time and attendance system. Encourages perfect attendance for all team members. Counsels employees on codes of conduct/standards of excellence and issues verbal and written feedback when necessary, in accordance with MARTA's policies and union guidelines.
- Prepares all required maintenance reports in accordance with Facilities Maintenance Departmental protocol and Electrical Power and Equipment Branch requirements. Coordinates work activities to utilize relevant technologies to deliver continuous quality service, process improvements, and cost controls.
