Job Description
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED with at least two years warehouse experience is required. Applicant must have the ability to read and write parts names and other Storeroom-related information. Should be able to demonstrate proficiency in keyboard data entry to meet the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM/FASuite) and Oracle input requirements. Must be able to demonstrate ability to enter data accurately at an acceptable rate. Must be able to perform basic arithmetic functions, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Floating relief requirements apply.
Interview Selection Process
The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job-related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interview and/or competency assessments.
Summary
Receives, records, stores, and issues materials and equipment in MARTA's Materials Storerooms in support of MARTA Bus, Rail, Facilities Maintenance and other MARTA operations. Assists maintenance personnel in the identification, nomenclature, selection and ordering of parts and materials. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, cost and type of material. Uses motor vehicles and storeroom material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, pneumatic material elevator, pallet puller, etc. Prepares and submits/inputs correct documentation for each transaction either manually or via computerized terminal. May deliver parts and/or materials using cargo trucks, light trucks or similar vehicles. Maintains inventory record location files, and other documentation to ensure proper accountability and accessibility. Performs basic warehouse safety and housekeeping procedures.

Must possess a current, valid State of Georgia issued CDL license [Class B] or a current, valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver Learner’s (CDL) Permit (Class B) is required. Individuals hired with a valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver Learner’s Permit must obtain a valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) within three (3) weeks of their date of hire.
A minimum of two years’ driving experience. A maximum of one (1) moving violation, with a maximum of three (3) points on Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) within a rolling 24-month period. DUI violations are not allowed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors. Employee must pass a hearing test.

- Assists other stores personnel; receives specific directions and instructions.
- Receives new and rebuilt materials from vendors and performs administrative receipt inspection to include ensuring correct count and type; places in designated bins or other storage facilities.
- Selects, prepares, and processes and ships parts and other materials for transfer to other stores locations.
- Assists maintenance personnel with identification of new/replacement parts; issues necessary items, and records usage as appropriate.
- Prepares and submits accurate documentation on actions taken in accordance with established procedures to ensure proper accountability.
- Performs safety and housekeeping functions as required to maintain safe and neat working areas.
- Maintains computerized inventory/location records, reviews records for accuracy, takes corrective action as necessary; brings situations which are beyond individual's scope of authority to correct, to the attention of supervisor; periodically reviews location accuracy and related storeroom functions.
- Observes and conducts strict property control to ensure materials are used only for official Authority purposes; reports potential violations to Supervisor or higher-level management; ensures that only authorized personnel gain access to storage areas.
- Observes storage areas for overflows, mixed stock, incorrect/incomplete bin placement, incorrect signage/markings; makes on-the-spot corrections.
- May gather and process materials for reclamation.
- Participates in complete and cyclic inventories to maintain high degree of accountability.
- May deliver parts and other materials using cargo trucks, light trucks or other similar vehicles.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Special Requirements
- Must successfully pass a forklift operator's proficiency test within 90 calendar days of hire.
- Must obtain a passing score on the Skills Check Test that includes Industrial Math and basic reading comprehension skills.
- Independently responsible to control and provide security for a high dollar inventory that includes sensitive items; therefore, individuals must undergo a criminal background check and have an acceptable credit report.
- Must possess valid State of Georgia issued CDL license or valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver Learner’s (CDL) Permit at time of application for position.
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
- Must pass physical examination required by MARTA. MARTA is a Drug-Free Workplace. Participation in MARTA's Drug & Alcohol Program is a condition of employment.
