Title: Network Engineer
In this role as a Network Development Engineer, you will be part of the lab technical team designing and building the network that enables Kuiper. Define the long term vision, design the technical solutions, and implement the design. This role is focused on our terrestrial network.
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and leaders across the org to define connectivity solutions for Kuiper.
- Provide technical leadership for Kuiper's terrestrial network plan and implementation for sites around the world.
- Define network solutions for Kuiper's launch, manufacturing, and lab sites.
- Support and champion the full lifecycle of networking, including enabling improved support tooling and monitoring capabilities.
-Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of major internet routing protocols experience
-5 years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
-5 years of working with Cisco and/or Juniper network gear
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
-3 years building networking solutions for global deployments
- Experience with AWS and AWS networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway
• Onsite expectation: 5 days /week
• Technical Interview subjects: Deep technical questions regarding routing experience, TCP, BGP, OSPF, Cisco ISE. Screening on how to troubleshoot - Example: customer cannot connect to wireless or wired. (key: authentication)
Zero-in on Networking fundamental questions
• Role: This individual will be joining Operations team that is onsite (Redmond), with an expectation of being on their on-call rotation.
• High paced environment - Looking for a motivated mindset and a different level of sense of urgency. Looking for productivity and ownership
• This is not a 9-5 job, 40 hour work week
• There will be after-hours planned maintenance
• On call rotation
• Strong ownership, ability to multitask and deep dive is an absolute must.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing, connectivity and performance issues
• Deployment and ongoing maintenance of network solutions in office, manufacturing and lab environments
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation
