POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Loan Operations Manager leads the day-to-day activities of the credit union’s loan operations department. This role ensures efficient processing, quality control, compliance, and servicing across all consumer, real estate, and business loan types. The Loan Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity of loan documentation, timely funding, lien and title perfection, escrow administration, and insurance monitoring. The position requires strong coordination with loan officers and senior leadership to support exceptional lending execution and member service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Management & Loan Quality
- Lead and supervise loan operations staff, including loan processors and support personnel.
- Ensure timely and accurate generation of loan documents and disbursement of funded loans.
- Maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure complete and compliant loan packages.
- Facilitate collaboration with loan officers to resolve outstanding loan documentation exceptions.
Loan Documentation & Lien Perfection
- Ensure all required loan documents are present, accurate, and securely maintained.
- Monitor lien and title perfection processes to protect the credit union’s security interest.
- Track and resolve documentation gaps or exceptions promptly.
Real Estate Loan Servicing
- Oversee escrow accounts for real estate loans, ensuring accuracy in tax and insurance payments.
- Supervise real estate loan insurance tracking and apply force-placed insurance when necessary.
- Ensure loans with titled collateral remain adequately insured and compliant with credit union policy.
Maintenance & Reporting
- Perform ongoing maintenance of loan records and system updates as needed.
- Ensure the loan operations team meets all funding, booking, and servicing deadlines.
- Prepare and deliver accurate, timely operational reports to senior management and the credit team.
- Recommend and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
· 5 years of experience in loan operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
· Deep understanding of loan documentation, lien/title processing, escrow servicing, and insurance requirements
· Proficiency with loan origination and core banking systems
· Strong organizational and communication skills with a detail-oriented mindset
· Experience in a credit union or community banking environment preferred
· Familiarity with real estate lending regulations and servicing guidelines
· Process improvement and reporting experience using Excel or business analytics tools
