Analyst, Loan Settlement Operations Analyst
Location: Jacksonville, FL Work Model: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking an entry-level Operations Analyst to join our Loan Settlement team in Jacksonville, FL. This role supports the settlement of various loan products by ensuring accurate payment processing, cash reconciliation, and timely communication across internal teams and external counterparties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to build a career in financial operations.
Role Purpose
The Operations Analyst will facilitate the settlement of loans agreed upon by the Syndicate and Agency desks with multiple counterparties. This includes processing payments, reconciling incoming and outgoing cash flows, and ensuring all settlements are completed accurately and on time. The role requires close collaboration with Front Office, Client Onboarding, and Cash Management teams to resolve issues and confirm successful settlements.
Key Responsibilities
• Process and support the settlement of loan transactions across multiple loan structures
• Track and reconcile incoming and outgoing cash flows to ensure accurate settlement
• Reconcile payments received against expected amounts and investigate any discrepancies
• Communicate with Front Office teams to escalate and resolve settlement-related issues
• Coordinate with Client Onboarding to establish and maintain accurate payment instructions
• Partner with Cash Management to confirm timely and accurate settlement of payments
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to loan settlements
• Support process improvements and assist with ad hoc operational tasks as needed
Loan Types Supported
• Syndicated Loans: Loans provided by a group of lenders, arranged by lead banks. The team receives incoming funds and distributes payments to multiple lenders, retaining assignment fees.
• Agency Loans: Conventional fixed-rate mortgage loans for income-producing properties that meet Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac guidelines. The firm acts as an intermediary, passing funds through while earning fees.
• Whole Loans: Single-lender loans issued to a borrower, similar to syndicated loans but involving only one lender.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately
• Basic understanding of financial operations, payments, or reconciliations preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work in the office four days per week in Jacksonville, FL
