Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Cost Center: 301191038 Eau Claire-Cardiology-Prof Svc Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: See Job Description for detail (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Cardiac Sonographer uses echocardiography or ultrasound equipment to evaluate the cardiac system allowing the physician to diagnose the patient’s cardiac function. The individual will record patient history, analyze technical information and provide summaries of findings to physicians. WORK SHIFT Mon – Fri; 7:00 am – 4:00 pm with call one night a week (4 nights in a 7 week period); every 7th Sat & Sun with call that same weekend. Potential outreach sites: Chippewa Falls, Ladysmith and Rice Lake. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Associate's degree or two year technical diploma in a related health care program. Preferred/Optional: Bachelor’s degree. EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Patient care experience. Preferred/Optional: One year experience as a cardiac sonographer. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) awarded by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within two years of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) awarded by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
