Performs research activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Records observations and measurements and reports results.
- Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment.
- Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, and ordering and stocking of materials and equipment.
- Performs research activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment.
- Assist in the operation of specialized equipment, as required by the area of research.
- Performs laboratory research procedures under the direction of a Principal Investigator
- Must be proficient in the following laboratory techniques: Exosomes Isolation, cell culture, Tritiated compounds uptakes, RT-PCR, Western blot
- Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, microscopy.
- Possesses extensive familiarity with standard instrumentation utilized in a biochemistry research laboratory.
- Ability to work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary research team.
- Ability to perform experiments with independence, under general guidance from the PI.
- Ability to take laboratory notes and assist in recordkeeping
- Familiarity with chemical hygiene and biosafety procedures and/or willingness to accept training in such procedures.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or chemistry
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a research laboratory preferred
