The Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology is inviting applications for a full-time academic ophthalmologist specializing in the subspeciality of Retina. The successful candidate will enjoy a robust clinical practice with academic responsibilities including the didactic and clinical teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities to conduct clinical research supported by an institutional trials team exist.
This position includes clinical and surgical activities at our Huntington campus facility as well as a location in South Charleston WV. Our faculty enjoy the benefits of a well-established, expanding department with a collegial atmosphere.
The Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine (SOM) is a community-based public medical school dedicated to providing high quality medical education and postgraduate training programs to foster a skilled physician workforce to meet the unique healthcare needs of West Virginia and Central Appalachia. Its physicians provide the spectrum from primary care to tertiary care for patients in southwestern West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, and southern Ohio. Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Qualified candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
- Must be eligible for a full and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of WV.

- Residency and training in Retina Subspeciality.
