Position Summary
The MURC Benefits Coordinator will manage employee benefits programs, ensuring effective communication, superior customer service, and overall benefit administration. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration: Oversee and manage employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, etc. Ensure that all benefits are administered accurately and in compliance with MURC policies and legal requirements.
Employee Enrollment: Guide employees through the benefits enrollment process, helping them understand their options and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed on time. Ensure all eligible employees are offered coverage.
Education and Communication: Provide information sessions and materials to educate employees about their benefit options and changes to benefit programs.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with insurance providers and other vendors to ensure that employee data is accurately enrolled and that benefits are delivered as promised. Reconcile benefit invoices monthly and prepare bills for payment
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of employee benefits, enrollment data, and related documentation; Enter employee deductions into payroll system
Compliance: Ensure that the organizations benefit programs comply with relevant laws such as the Affordable Care Act
Location MURC - Marshall University Research Corporation Salary Range $45,000 - $50,000 commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Over one year of relevant work experience.
- Excellent computer (MS Office);
- Knowledge of principles, practices and standards of human resource administration;
- Must have ability to effectively communicate with others.
