Seeking an experienced Food Equipment Service Technician who has repaired a variety of cooking, dishwashing and food preparation equipment, including electric, gas and steam equipment used in commercial and industrial applications. Starting wage depends upon previous job-related experience.

**Newly hired employee will receive a $1,500.00 bonus after 90 days of employment, and a brand new hand tools after 180 days of employment,.

The company has a long history of foodservice equipment repair and preventative maintenance, while offering factory-authorized service to many major equipment brands. The company is family-owned and operated, and is a member of the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association and the Rhode Island Hospitality Association. The business recently relocated and is now operating in Cranston, Rhode Island.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair all types of commercial appliances including Cooking Equipment, Food Preparation Equipment, Ware-Washing Equipment and Coffee Brewing Equipment.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs in various commercial kitchens including Restaurants, Hotels, Local Schools, Universities, Healthcare Facilities, Correctional Institutions, Gaming Facilities and Entertainment Complexes.
  • Service territory includes Rhode Island, Bristol County MA, New London County, CT, and neighboring cities in Cape Cod and Plymouth County, MA
  • Provide 24/7 on-call service in a rotation with fellow service technicians.
  • Maintain a service van and its parts inventory in a clean, neat and orderly fashion.
  • Receive CFESA Electric certification within the first year of employment, and Gas certification within the second year of employment, if not already certified.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Strong command of electrical principles and applications.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams.
  • Know how to test components using a voltmeter.
  • Should be able to properly wire components in a series and parallel circuits.
  • Must be able to repair foodservice equipment powered by 120V, 208V, 240V, and 480V.
  • Able to use service management software on a wireless device to record and complete jobs.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Proof of US Citizenship or Legal Alien.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Ownership of basic hand tools.
  • Able to lift 45 lbs. independently.
  • CFESA certification is a plus but not required.
  • Must have a passion for the job, a positive attitude, and be punctual.
  • Must use good judgement, be willing to learn and ask questions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $77,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

  • Do you have any issues repairing equipment in correctional facilities? (Note: a security guard will accompany you)

  • Do you know how to wire components such as switches, contactors, lights and elements from the incoming power source to make a piece of equipment heat ?
  • Do you know how to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics in order to trace how something is supposed to be wired to operate correctly.
