Description
Don't want to stand behind a counter taking orders, or be stuck inside on a boring assembly line? Our students are hard-working, independent workers up on their feet! You'll play an important role in the operations of the company because your work helps ensure the health and safety of our animals. We need people who have a fine attention to detail and care about the facility and the welfare of the animals. Our students perform a variety of functions like cleaning cages; but you also get to move animals from one building to another using a "buggie" transport vehicle.
Student employees perform many types of entry-level jobs according to the needs of the company. Student employees generally work in Animal Husbandry.
The shift is primarily Monday - Friday, 3- 6pm when school is in session, and 630-930am Saturdays. During the summer the number of hours increases based on the need of the business.
Pay rate for student positions is $17/hour
Requirements
We are looking for people who can handle the physical requirements of lifting, cleaning and basic health and who don't mind getting their hands dirty, to play a key role in animal welfare. Good communication and organizational skills are essential as well as the ability to work independently or with others.
Student employees will contribute to a productive and professional environment by setting a positive example and demonstrating enthusiasm, diligence, and ethical behavior and by taking responsibility for ones’ actions and challenging oneself to continually improve.
Work Conditions:
Work may be physically demanding with a requirement to lift animals. Job duties may be performed while wearing personal protective equipment and may require operation of motorized buggy.
Earplugs are required.
