We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in Boston and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
As a Portfolio Implementation Associate , you will take direct responsibility for discretionary client and investment product implementations, collaborating closely with sales, investment consulting, client office, operations, and portfolio management teams. You’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional client service and facilitating seamless communication across internal and external teams. We will count on you to:
- Develop strong relationships with both internal and external parties, and work across team boundaries to deliver results on key department and business initiatives
- Service clients to the highest standard and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism at all times
- Assist with the development and maintenance of detailed project plans for each implementation
- Assist with the legal review process between the client and internal Mercer Legal to ensure that agreements are negotiated timely
- Work with operational stakeholders to ensure that all client setup requirements are considered and executed timely
- Ensure that all new client onboarding compliance requirements are met
- Implements appropriate risk controls and procedures and ensures adherence to these procedures and controls
- Ensure that incoming work is handled effectively, promptly, and accurately so that the needs of internal and external customers are consistently met and exceeded
- Investigate and resolve queries received from internal and external customers
- Maintain a strong risk awareness mindset while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field of study
- 1-6 years of experience in Client Service, Portfolio Operations, Fund Accounting and/or Custodial oversight, with progressive increase in responsibilities
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
- Clear and effective communication (both verbal and written) while engaging directly with clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- General experience with client relationship management systems, and databases is advantageous
