What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Prep Cook position at Marriott Tacoma Downtown?
$20 per hour
Responsibilities:- Wash, sort, prep, slice, and measure ingredients for recipes, using condiments, vegetables, and proteins, and mixing sauces for use in various meals
- Abide by food safety guidelines and implement COVID-19 safety measures in all food prep areas and stations where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is used
- Understand recipe instructions, measurements, meal charts, and labels written in English and use all measuring tools properly
- Maintain a clean, organized prep area and workstation at all times, and sanitize equipment after each shift or when we close
- Assist other cooks in the kitchen as needed with preparing simple recipes such as soups, sauce reduction, and brewing coffee and tea
- Have some experience prepping food and the ability to work under the head chef/cook with minor supervision
- We’d like you to have some kitchen experience and associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent, but it’s not necessary
- Should be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and also bend, pull, and lift 35-50 pounds
- Flexibility to work weekend hours and holidays if necessary, as well as some extended hours
- Understanding of how to read recipes, meal charts, measuring tools, and labels in English
