Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage wait lists efficiently to minimize wait times
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu or specials
- Assist servers with table setup, refilling supplies, and clearing dishes to support seamless service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of host/hostess stations and dining areas
- Handle guest inquiries via phone with professionalism and courtesy, providing accurate information or forwarding calls appropriately
- Support restaurant operations by managing reservations using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Collaborate with team members to ensure guest needs are met promptly and courteously, fostering positive guest relations
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with guests and team members
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills, including patience, attentiveness, and professionalism
- Ability to handle phone etiquette professionally while managing reservation inquiries or guest questions
- Previous hotel or guest services experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly between tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
