The Lighting Technician maintains and repairs lighting equipment and systems, and is part of our Maintenance department.

The Lighting Technician maintains and repairs lighting equipment and systems, and is part of our Maintenance department.

1. Maintain and repair lighting equipment and systems.
2. Investigate lighting problems, accurately determine operational status of lighting equipment and take appropriate action to restore system operation.
3. Perform repairs to lighting distribution panels, breakers and/or fuse panels, switches, interior and exterior lighting fixtures, and ballasts.
4. Perform maintenance of lighting systems in accordance with established schedules and standards.
5. Use the tools and instruments appropriate to the electrician’s craft for the repair, testing, and modification of lighting equipment.
6. Read, interpret, and use electrical blueprints, specifications, manufacturer’s manuals, catalogs, and other technical literature.
7. Ordering and receiving of materials.
8. Supervise and coordinate the tasks of student workers.
9. Prepare and maintain logs and records for lighting equipment and systems.
10. Keep equipment locations and shop areas clean and orderly
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A high school diploma is required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Three years in of maintenance experience in lighting systems or maintenance is required.
Certification in electrical maintenance from a technical school is desired.
