Marquette University School of Dentistry (MUSoD) seeks qualified candidates for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position in Orthodontics at the school’s main campus in Milwaukee. As Wisconsin’s only dental school, MUSoD is answering the call to meet workforce needs, increase access to oral health care for underserved patients, and advance dental education in Wisconsin. MUSoD serves the community on its main campus in Milwaukee and through outreach clinics across the State of Wisconsin.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include full participation in all aspects of 1) orthodontic clinical instruction rotations and simulation lab instruction for predoctoral dental students, and 2) clinical instruction of post-graduate residents in the Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Teaching includes didactic coursework and direct supervision of patient care.
Administrative responsibilities include participation on departmental and school committees, with the opportunity for directorship of predoctoral courses as teaching experience and leadership progresses.
The position emphasizes excellence in didactic and clinical teaching of predoctoral students and active participation in scholarly activities appropriate to the faculty track, which may include educational innovations and clinical and/or non-clinical research. Clinical or Tenure track paths will be considered.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- DMD/DDS degree from a US or Canadian dental school recognized by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation or a comparable international degree.
- Completed an Advanced Dental Education Program in orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation, or a comparable international program.
- A current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Wisconsin, or be eligible for a Wisconsin dental faculty license by the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and high quality research.
Previous clinical teaching experience.
