About the Role

This position plays an important part in supporting adults age 60 by helping them understand and access essential benefits and services. The Elder Benefit Specialist provides counseling, advocacy, outreach, and education on topics such as healthcare, prescription drug coverage, housing, public benefits, financial concerns, and elder rights. It’s a meaningful opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of older adults in our community.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist clients with Medicare, prescription coverage, housing, and benefit programs
  • Help with eligibility assessments and public benefit applications
  • Advocate for clients in benefit reductions, denials, appeals, and hearings
  • Conduct outreach, presentations, and occasional home visits
  • Maintain accurate client records and required reporting
  • Collaborate with community agencies and supervising legal partners
  • Research and resolve benefit-related questions

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree (Human Services or related field preferred)
  • Experience with older adults and/or public benefits helpful
  • Strong communication, research, problem-solving, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to clearly explain detailed information to clients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid WI driver’s license, insured transportation
  • Ability to complete required trainings and pass background checks

Pay: $24.59 - $27.48 per hour
