Marta Markman, MD & Associates is a busy, patient-focused pediatric practice serving the Glen Burnie community. We are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to children and families. We are currently seeking a reliable and bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Medical Assistant to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant will support providers and clinical staff in delivering efficient, high-quality care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and fluent in both English and Spanish to effectively communicate with our diverse patient population.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs (height, weight, BP, temp)
- Perform point-of-care testing (rapid strep, flu, COVID, etc.)
- Administer vaccines and injections per protocol
- Assist providers during exams and procedures
- Document in EHR (Office Practicum experience preferred)
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions
- Handle phone triage and patient messages
- Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with pediatric guidelines
Qualifications:
- Required: Fluent in Spanish and English
- Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA/RMA) but not required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office (pediatrics preferred)
- Experience with EHR systems (Office Practicum a plus)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
