JOB SUMMARY
The Supervisor, Quality Assurance is responsible for supervising and scheduling work assignments in the QA area, ensuring proper inspection of products at various stages of production process, compiling and evaluating data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESP ONSIBILITIES
- Interpret assembly drawings/instructions and perform in-process inspections, confirming specifications through visual and measurement tests; communicate required adjustments to production supervisor.
- Perform inspections of received materials and finished products using tools such as calipers, thread gauges, and pin gauges; return products for re-work and confirm re-work completion.
- Follow soldering and assembly workmanship standards.
- Own supplier and customer quality metrics; analyze and correct variations in product performance to ensure high quality and reliability. Address customer issues as a priority and manage the overall non-conformance process using industry-accepted methods (RMA, CAR8D, 5-Why, DOE, FA). Manage and drive actions on vendor RMAs.
- Maintain inspection logs, reports, and quality database entries; summarize re-work and waste data. Collect data for SPC charts and write corrective actions and disposition reports.
- Identify errors in existing production documentation and assist quality and engineering staff in executing corrective actions. Develop and implement standards and controls to monitor and analyze quality performance; validate processes by collecting and analyzing data and drive actions from conclusions and recommendations.
- Drive quality improvement programs including Quality Action Plans, FMEA, Lean, 5S, and 6-Sigma. Achieve quality objectives by continually improving quality performance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality specifications are met and maintained; identify and drive cost-effective improvements to overall product quality.
- Manage quality documents, including manuals, plans, procedures, drawings, and work instructions to ensure compliance with company quality standards and external contractual requirements.
- Work with quality colleagues and management to drive audit activities required to remain compliant with industry standards, including ISO 9001, MIL-STD, and customer-specific reliability requirements. Conduct audits, develop corrective actions, identify solutions, and drive improvements.
- Lead Quality Change Control Board meetings; follow through on actions from ECN, MRB, iCAR, and CAR8D activities.
- Take a lead role in communicating and coaching employees on quality goals, systems, and processes. Promote an ethics-based business culture within the organization.
- Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Write performance evaluations on direct reports as required.
- Accomplish quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Tasks as assigned by manager.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma minimum required; some college preferred
- 5 years in a Quality Assurance role in RF/Microwave or electronics manufacturing industry
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Strong ERP/financial systems use experience; familiarity with Sage 100 is a plus; computer systems competency is a requirement (reporting tools, MS Office, etc.)
- Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills
- Detail orientated
- MS Office experience

Salary : $80,000 - $130,000
