What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fractional Marketing & Communications Director position at &Marketing?
&Marketing places fractional talent every day, so we know better than anyone what it looks like when you actually treat marketing as a priority. Now we're doing it for ourselves. We want to identify our own fractional marketing director to collaborate with our leadership on strategy and own its translation into an accountable, executed plan.
THE ROLE
You’ll collaborate with our leadership team on marketing strategy and then own making it real. You’ll translate that shared direction into an executable plan, direct our existing resources, hold us accountable to reporting, and make sure we treat our own marketing with the same rigor we bring to our clients.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
- Strategy & execution: Help build our shared strategic direction and manage our workstreams to execute the vision. Keep it moving.
- Thought Leadership & Content
- Build and manage the execution workstreams, including our content calendar, social media, and emerging thought leadership (including a potential podcast, external blog, and other vehicles to attract our target audiences and COIs).
- Set the direction and guide our marketing coordinator, who will handle execution.
- Website direction: Direct our web resources to execute updates and changes. Own the roadmap of what gets done and when.
- Email & HubSpot oversight: Oversee email marketing strategy and execution. Own HubSpot as a decision-making tool, not just a sending platform.
- Reporting & accountability: Treat us like a real client. Use data to drive decisions and bring recommendations — not just updates. We have reporting in place; you need to review it and help us make decisions.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll collaborate closely with our leadership team on direction and work alongside our marketing coordinator, who handles project management, material creation, LinkedIn execution, and event support. You direct. She and others execute.
WHERE YOU FIT
You’re the bridge between leadership’s vision and execution. You help shape and pressure-test strategy with leadership, then own turning it into a plan that actually gets done.
You've done this before in a fractional or agency context, you are comfortable directing without doing, you know HubSpot well, and you hold yourself and your clients accountable to results. BONUS if you understand the fractional model because you live it and you can gie us aout 30-40 hours a month. Even better if you have led a "thought leadership" platform with spectacular results.
