Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately
- Assist pharmacists with medication inventory management, including stock replenishment, data entry into pharmacy software systems, and maintaining proper storage conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulations, and pharmaceutical regulatory standards.
- Perform pharmaceutical calculations for medication dosages
- Support patient service initiatives by accurately processing medication intake, verifying patient information, and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions regarding medication use, medication administration procedures, and pharmacy services.
Skills
- Proven pharmacy technician experience in community pharmacy settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacological terminology
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory management.
- Excellent understanding of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and federal pharmacy laws.
- Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately under pressure.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient care and effective communication.
- Ability to give immunizations or willingness to get certified to administer vaccines.
