What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seamstress/Tailor position at Market Place Alterations?
Must have the ability to understand and provide exceptional customer service to multiple customers at one time. Able to use credit card terminals, counting money, steaming garments, and receiving or initiating telephone calls.
Modifying garments according to customer instructions, which includes tapering pant legs, lining sheer garments, removing pockets, and adding padding.
Altering garments to improve comfort and fit, which includes shortening sleeves or straps, narrowing lapels, as well as taking in or letting out seams.
Repairing customers' garments, which includes patching or sewing tears and holes.
Requirements:
Proven experience working as a Tailor.
Sound knowledge of fabrics as well as clothing design and construction.
The ability to use an industrial sewing machine; serger and blind stitch machines.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Sewing and Alterations: 3-5 years experience (Required)
