As a barback you directly support the bartender in maintaining bar cleanliness, maintenance, enhancing guest experience, and keeping the bar well supplied with a wide variety of materials which make a high volume bar function smoothly. A sample of daily duties:
- Re-stocking glassware, ice and other products
- Frequent trash removal and disposal
- Removing finished or unattended cocktails, beer glasses/bottles from the bar top
- Removing spills and food particles from the bar top, or bar designated tables
- Removal of bus tubs and replacement of bus tubs
- Preparation of bar garnishments such produce, herbs,
- Proper preparation of syrups, spirit infusions, batched cocktails
- Polishing glassware
- Accurate record keeping regarding any type of waste or breakage
- Safe and secure storage of all bar items or products
