Pay Range
$28.48 - $32.02 /hour
As a Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, bringing us one step closer to effectively treating patient illnesses and injuries.
Every day you will utilize your expertise and our advanced technology to precisely collect, prepare, and process a diverse range of patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for various diagnostic tests.

- Facilitates and documents the flow of all patient specimens into and out of the laboratory.
- Prepares specimens and deliver to instrument workstations in preparation for processing on automated equipment by the Clinical Lab Scientists.
- Completes all patient and client billing and updates the computer workload files each day
- Following patient registration, meets and instructs patients in proper specimen collection techniques.
- Performs venipuncture or skin puncture on all patients at any of the hospital drawing stations: ER, Med/Surg, Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital, San Andreas Convalescent Hospital, Outpatient, etc. and records their test and patient information in laboratory computer system.
- Performs all clerical duties as requested by supervisor or laboratory need.
Job Requirements
Required
- CA Phebotomy Certification
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Preferred
- High School Graduate or GED
- Certificate Other Graduate of a Medical Assistant or Lab Assistant school
- Any phlebotomist work, hospital experience
