Role Overview
This is a hands-on, field-based role supporting the daily operations of a shared electric vehicle fleet in Seattle.
Operators are assigned to one of two shift blocks. Block A handles Move, Deploy, and Retrieval work using shared flatbed and pickup trucks. Block B handles battery Swaps using the operator’s own personal vehicle.
Across both blocks, you will keep vehicles clean, safely parked, and rider-ready, and represent the brand to the local community.
The work is active and outdoors, with a significant amount of driving throughout the day. It suits someone dependable who takes ownership and works well in a fast-paced operations environment.
Shift Blocks
Block A: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM (8-hour shift), 4 operators
- Focus: Move, Deploy, and Retrieval. All three tasks require a flatbed or pickup truck and use the program’s shared vehicles.
- This block does not touch the warehouse or batteries, which is why it starts early.
Block B: 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM (7-hour shift), 4 operators
- Focus: Battery Swap, using each operator’s own personal vehicle (not the shared trucks or vans).
- Start and end times are fixed by the warehouse’s battery hours and are not flexible.
Warehouse and Battery Handling
- Warehouse: 547 S River St, Seattle, WA 98108.
- Battery pickup and drop-off is available 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, 7 days a week.
- No offsite battery storage is allowed at any time. All batteries must be returned to the warehouse before the end of the shift.
Vehicle Requirement (Mandatory)
- Every operator must have their own reliable, insured vehicle in good working condition. This is a hard requirement with no exceptions.
- Fuel is paid for by the program.
- Block B (Swap) operators use their personal vehicle for all battery work.
- Block A (Move, Deploy, Retrieval) operators use the program’s shared flatbed and pickup trucks. A shared truck assignment is in addition to the personal vehicle requirement, not a replacement for it.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record (MVR) are required.
- Must be comfortable operating larger vehicles, including vans, pickups, and flatbed trucks, in an urban environment.
Key Responsibilities
Block A: Move, Deploy, Retrieval
- Deploy scooters and other shared electric vehicles at designated pins throughout the Seattle service area.
- Move and reposition vehicles to higher-demand areas.
- Retrieve vehicles needing repair and transport them back to the warehouse.
- Load, secure, and unload vehicles on flatbed and pickup trucks safely and efficiently.
Block B: Battery Swap
- Pick up charged batteries from the warehouse at the start of the shift and return all batteries before the warehouse closes at 4:30 PM.
- Locate vehicles in the field and swap depleted batteries using your personal vehicle.
All Operators
- Inspect vehicles for cleanliness, safety, and rider readiness. Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
- Address city requests involving stickers, reflectors, and vehicle placement within established SLAs.
- Patrol assigned zones on foot to correct parking and keep areas organized.
- Interact professionally with the public and assist customers encountered in the field.
- Stay in communication with the shift lead and operations team, and report recurring field issues.
- Follow all company safety, battery-handling, and vehicle-handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
- Own reliable, insured, working personal vehicle (mandatory).
- Able to lift, carry, load, and unload up to 65 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Available for the assigned shift block (Block A or Block B), including weekends as required.
