Position Summary
Responsible for the delivery of integrated patient care that promotes
the safety and well-being
of all patients.

Essential Functions
Utilizes the nursing process and accepts responsibility in the
administration of
direct nursing care to patients in accordance with nursing/clinic
policies,
procedures and standards according to the Arizona State Nurse Practice
Act and
other regulatory agencies.
Obtains data necessary to deliver quality patient care from patient
history, vital
signs, charts, interviews, observations, physical assessment, etc.,
while assuring
the safety, comfort and well- being of the patient.
Documents procedures, medications, care provided, and all pertinent
information
related to nursing care.
Collaborates with physicians and other health care providers in the
assessment
and/or changes of patient status including the delivery of patient care.
Ability and willingness to provide intravenous and central line therapy,
while
maintaining aseptic/sterile environment.

Serves as an educator providing patient education materials, instruction
and
support regarding procedures, diagnostic tests, health promotion and
disease
prevention to patients, families and other health care members.
Complies with quality assurance, safety, infection control and emergency
procedures consistent with clinic policy.
Responsible for ensuring needed supplies are ordered and stocked.
Participates in personal and professional nursing growth and development
through
seminars, workshops, conferences, and certifications.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None
Typical Physical Requirements
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting
patients, manual
and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
May be exposed to communicable disease or body fluids.
Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., keyboard, mouse,
telephone)
Must possess adequate vision and hearing to communicate effectively in
person,
over the phone, and in writing. If vision/hearing is within abnormal
range, must use
corrective device.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and
speak both
languages preferred.
Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to
administer
patient care.
Knowledgeable in the use of medical equipment and instruments to
admin ister
patient care.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe
working
environment.
Must have the ability and skill to identify problems and recommend
solutions.
Prepare and maintain records and reports and respond to correspondence.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients,
medical staff,
and the public.
Apply and modify the principles, methods and techniques of professional
nursing to
provide on-going patient care.
Knowledge and ability to maintain quality control standards.
Must be able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
