Position: Surgery Scheduler

About the Role:
Marion Eye Centers is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Surgery Scheduler to join our team in Mt. Vernon. The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating all aspects of surgical scheduling, working closely with patients, physicians, and surgical staff to ensure a smooth, efficient process.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule surgeries and procedures in coordination with physicians and surgical centers.
Communicate surgery details, pre-operative instructions, and necessary paperwork to patients.
Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and referrals.
Ensure all required testing, clearances, and documentation are completed before surgery.
Coordinate with multiple offices and departments to ensure timely patient care.
Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide excellent customer service and compassionate communication to patients and families.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in medical scheduling, surgical coordination, or a medical office preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of patient interactions.
Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology is a plus.
Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records systems.
