What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Technician position at MarineMax?
OVERVIEW: The Lead Technician is responsible for maintaining efficient work flow in the Service Department and conducting quality checks after a technician has completed work. Additionally, the Lead Technician will assist with training and troubleshooting when necessary, and also coordinate and maintain efficient workflow of the yard.

- Communicate well with Service Manager, Technicians and Service Advisors
- Train, motivate, coach, monitor and provide the Service Manager with input when evaluating the performance of all service & yard team members
- Report performance and/or disciplinary issues to the appropriate department manager.
- Assist Service Manager in day-to-day operations including scheduling and distribution of work for technicians and yard team, utilizing Service Scheduler and other tools as required to generate and manage work orders.
- Schedule, coordinate and follow-up on sublet contractors.
- Inspect quality of work performed as required, prior to delivery to the customer.
- Provide prompt, detailed and timely flow of all paperwork.
- Train technicians to peform services in accordance with MarineMax standards and best practices to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Project a knowledgable and professional image at all times
- Communicate with service and parts teams to obtain nessecasry parts
- Advise technicians, if needed, on technical advice and assistance
- Maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees
- Conserve shop supplies as appropriate
- Perform routine repairs and installations through out day as work load demands
- Maintain dealership equipment to ensure good working order and coordinate all maintenance- maintaining repair and maintenance logs.
- Follow safety rules and regulations and wear proper protective gear
- Instruct team on safety procedures
- Keep shop tools and equipment clean and in proper working order
- Maintain a clean & professional facility and shop conducive to safety
- Inspect quality of work performed as required, prior to delivery to the customer.
