Our work spans a full range of Combatant, Hull, Mechanical and Electrical, and Habitability systems, supporting the readiness and mission success of the U.S. Fleet.
Position Specifics
Vigor Marine CM San Diego is currently seeking a WAF Coordinator to help support our operations. The Work Authorization Form Coordinator (WAFCOR) is responsible for the work authorization control process for all Repair Activity (RA) work being performed during the contract performance period. In addition, the WAFCOR ensures that each RA submits a properly filled out WAF.
Minimum Requirements
- Strong background in Work authorization Forms and environmental, health, and safety programs
- Familiar with NAVSEA standard items, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual, Tagout User Manual and associated military and commercial regulatory requirement
- Must be able to read and interpret work specification, standards, and reference
- Must have excellent written and oral skills; able to communicate effectively with all levels of the workforce
- Must be able to get along with and foster good relationship among peers, supervisory, and customer
- Must be proficient in the use of PCs and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, desktop applications, and electronic mail programs
- The ability to obtain a DBIDS credential is required
Physical Requirements
- May be exposed to fumes, irritants, laser light, toxic chemicals, and potential electrical shock in an industrial or shipboard environment
- May involve gathering data while observing rotating or operating machinery
- Ability to move more than 40lbs
- May be exposed to rapid changes in microclimates, industrial processes, and other environmental factors while collecting data, providing direction, and observing performance of task teams
- Must be able to maneuver, ascend and descend stairs/ladders/ramps located inside various ships
