Major Duties
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Assists the Supply/Property Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating storage, accountability and distribution of appropriated and non-appropriated items of supply and equipment for MCCS-SC activities aboard MCRD Parris Island and MCAS Beaufort, and Laurel Bay.
Picks up/removes assets, equipment, etc. from respective activities as needed and transports the items to the assigned property warehouse. Locates, documents, and tags new property assets upon purchase by MCCS activities.
Assists with administering the sales process when surplus property is old to the general public or negotiated sales are conducted. Maintains and updates bidder's list for sales of surplus property. Reviews or coordinates, with contractor, i.e. GovDeals, etc., terms of invitation to Bid as it pertains to segregation and marketing of property offered for sale in order to obtain the highest possible returns to the NAF. Notifies contractors to solicit bids and determines appropriate advertisement timeframes. Ensures accuracy and consistency of written item descriptions. Ensures a sufficient number of bidders are solicited for each sale. Incumbent answers questions from the general public concerning the sale, payment, and award of the property for sale. Contacts successful bidders to coordinate payment and pick up or shipment of sold items. Maintains a suspense file of all transactions and follows-up as necessary to provide effective control of disposal actions.
Prepares assets for DRMO (Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office) including date entry and documenting serial and tag numbers. Conducts inventory spot checks as instructed.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of one year of experience that demonstrates knowledge of the governing supply/property systems, programs, policies, shipping terms, and procedures. Knowledge of work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines. Ability to operate a CRT and related office machines. Knowledge of business mathematics. Forklift experience preferred. Must have forklift certification or acquire and maintain within one (1) year from date of hire (class provided). Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. required.
