This position is located at Marine Corps Base Quantico. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Supervisory Lead Educator at the CDC South.

Major Duties

Overview:
Join our team supporting military families by ensuring high-quality care and development for children and youth ages 6 weeks to 18 years. As a Child and Youth Program (CYP) Supervisor, you will lead, coach, and develop a team of childcare professionals to deliver safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate programs in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.

Responsibilities:
Supervisory duties comprise 25% if incumbent¿s time and includes:

Supervision, training, and evaluating staff in up to six classrooms or activity areas.
Undertakes minor disciplinary measures such as warnings and reprimands and takes action in more serious disciplinary matters. Prepares documentation to support actions taken. Resolves complaints related to personnel concerns and when necessary, makes recommendations to the CYP management team for corrective action.
Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and staff-to-child ratios; serve as Manager on Duty when assigned.
Ensure program operations meet DoD quality, health, and safety standards.

General duties comprise 75% of incumbent¿s time and include:
Mentor and coach staff to enhance teaching practices, curriculum implementation, and child development outcomes.
Support inclusive programming for children with special needs and ensure compliance with individualized care plans.
Conduct regular inspections, safety checks, and quality assurance reviews.
Build strong partnerships with parents, schools, and community organizations to support child and family well-being.
The incumbent must have the ability to conduct and review program evaluations of classroom and activity areas, identifying areas that need improvement, and establishing and implementing corrective action plans to address deficiencies.
In collaboration with the TCS, ensure CYP direct care professionals are trained and adhere to special instructions provided by parents such as medication administration, acute health related conditions, assistive devices, behavior management, and dietary restrictions. Guides and supports CYP direct care professionals with responding and administering medication, as required.
Ensures direct care professionals use written observations, detailed notes, and knowledge of targeted and individualized behavior strategies to inform behavior support plans, provides recommendations to the IAT, and follows Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) (if applicable) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) (if applicable) for appropriate care of children and youth with special needs.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Elementary/Secondary Education, Child or Youth Development, Special Education, or a combination of education (at least 24 semester hours) and experience, or additional course work, that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above
At least 12 months of experience working in group programs with children or youth.
Knowledge of child development principles, curriculum planning, and staff supervision.
Must pass background checks, physical examination, and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications.

Additional Requirements:
Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
Must meet immunization requirements for working with children and youth.
The incumbent serves as a mandated reporter as prescribed by local and Unites States Marine Corps (USMC) policy in the case of suspected incidences of child abuse and neglect. The incumbent has knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws governing the detection, prevention, and reporting of child abuse and/or neglect.
