This position is located at MCAGCC TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a GRAPHIC ARTIST NF3 for MCCS.

Major Duties

Designs and executes graphic elements, layouts, printed and/or digital media using Adobe Creative Cloud software programs. Plans and executes the development of graphic designs in Adobe Creative Cloud software programs for small and largescale campaigns, and branding projects in coordination with the presentation of printed and/or digital media. Provides digital campaign materials for the website, various social media platforms, digital newsletters, tv's, large monitors, digital poster stands, and marquees. Updates the marquees internally as needed. Must be able to manage documents on the web site on a real-time basis, troubleshoot and resolve problems. Design and implement web formatted designs in a Content Management System (CMS) platform. Designs digital and print publications to include the Life in 29 digital newsletters, the annual Guidebook and the Business Development Kit. All creative materials designed are to follow MCCS branding and style guides and receive review and guidance from supervisor. Creates, produces and delivers in house professional signs, posters, banners, cut vinyl, as well as designs for outsourced large-scale materials and smaller prints like business cards and postcards. The variety of in-house and outsource materials are used for creating campaigns that increase sales and promote program participation. Works closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure programs and events are disseminated to reach target audiences. Will occasionally work at special events and provide photographic support for MCCS functions.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses the required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Performs other related duties as assigned. This is an onsite only position, remote/telework is not authorized.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in graphic design or multimedia arts OR three years of experience in graphic design or related field OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above. Knowledge in applications of layout, print production media and desktop publishing required. Proficiency in the following software is required: Photoshop (advanced), Illustrator (intermediate), InDesign (intermediate) and CMS (advanced), along with strong overall computer skills. Experience with format printers and photography skills is a plus.

The position requires excellent creative, written, and verbal communication abilities, along with a solid understanding of conceptualization, layout, typography, grid systems, hierarchy, imagery, and use of space. Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and a clear understanding of the broader vision and client objectives. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and objects over 45 pounds with assistance.

Must possess a valid state driver's license.
