What You'll Do
- Keep Marin Moving: Safely and efficiently operate heavy transit buses along designated local fixed routes, keeping strictly to pre-arranged time schedules through traffic and Bay Area weather.
- Provide Excellent Service: Greet passengers, collect fares, verify transit passes, and answer routing or directional questions with a highly professional, welcoming attitude.
- Ensure Accessibility: Safely operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems to assist passengers with disabilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Stay Sharp on Safety: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle mechanical and safety inspections daily.
- Communicate Clearly: Coordinate constantly with Dispatch via two-way radio to report traffic delays, passenger incidents, or mechanical issues.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
· Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
· Driver's License: A valid California driver's license (Class C or higher) with a clean driving record.
· Driving History: Proven history of safe driving through prior DMV records
· Experience: Prior passenger transit experience is preferred, but not required. We hire for attitude and train for skill!
· Physical & Environmental Capabilities: Must be physically capable of sitting for prolonged periods (up to 80% of the workday), bending/kneeling to fasten heavy wheelchair restraints, and working safely around active vehicular traffic, engine noise, and outdoor weather variations.
· Schedule Availability: Route schedules vary based on business need. Evening and weekend availability is required for current routes.
Licenses & Endorsements (We Train You!)

· California Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
· Passenger (P) and Air Brake endorsements
· DMV Medical Certificate (DL-51)
· Verification of Transit Training (VTT) Certificate
