About the Role
MariMed is looking for an energetic, highly organized and self-motivated Brand Ambassador / Field Marketing Specialist to represent our portfolio throughout the Maryland market.
This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who enjoys being out in the market, building relationships and making things happen. You will spend much of your time visiting dispensaries, executing in-store activations, educating retail teams and consumers, supporting product launches, maintaining merchandising and gathering insights that help our sales and marketing teams grow the business.
Our Brand Ambassadors are the face of MariMed's brands in the field. Success in this role requires more than being outgoing: you must be dependable, organized, comfortable working independently and able to manage a changing field schedule while consistently following through on commitments.
What You’ll Do
Retail Activations & Brand Representation
- Execute in-store pop-ups, vendor days, consumer activations and other retail programs throughout the Maryland market
- Represent MariMed brands professionally and enthusiastically with consumers and dispensary teams
- Support product launches, promotional programs, community events and larger brand activations
- Educate consumers and dispensary teams on product attributes, formats, ingredients, usage guidance and approved brand and product information
- Distribute approved promotional materials, non-infused samples and branded merchandise when permitted
Retail Relationships & Sales Support
- Build strong working relationships with budtenders, dispensary managers and retail teams
- Partner with the Maryland Sales team to prioritize accounts and field activity based on business needs
- Support sell-through by increasing product knowledge, brand visibility and consumer engagement within priority accounts
- Conduct budtender education sessions and product trainings
- Identify opportunities to improve brand visibility and execution at retail
Merchandising & Market Intelligence
- Install, refresh and maintain merchandising, displays and point-of-sale materials according to brand standards
- Monitor product placement, competitive activity, pricing, promotions and other relevant activity within accounts
- Gather feedback from consumers and retail teams and communicate actionable insights to Sales and Marketing
- Capture photos and document field execution to help measure program effectiveness
Field Operations & Accountability
- Independently manage a dynamic field schedule across assigned accounts and territories
- Complete activation recaps and required reporting accurately and on time
- Maintain an organized inventory of samples, merchandise, event materials and other field assets
- Submit mileage, receipts and business expenses accurately and within required timelines
- Maintain visibility into upcoming field activity and communicate schedule changes proactively
- Participate in team meetings, trainings and planning sessions
- Follow all company policies, brand standards and applicable Maryland cannabis regulations
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of experience in field marketing, experiential marketing, sales, hospitality, retail, customer service, events or another customer-facing role
- Experience independently managing a territory, event schedule, account base or other field-based responsibilities strongly preferred
- Cannabis, CPG, beverage, hospitality or other regulated-industry experience is a plus, but not required
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the confidence to engage both consumers and retail professionals
- Highly organized, dependable and comfortable managing multiple priorities without constant supervision
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Comfortable presenting product information and educating individuals or groups
- Ability to recognize opportunities and communicate useful market insights back to internal teams
- Comfortable using digital tools for scheduling, communication, reporting and expense management
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and ability to travel regularly throughout Baltimore and elsewhere in Maryland as business needs require
- Ability to meet all applicable requirements for working within the Maryland cannabis industry
- Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends based on activation and event schedules
- Ability to transport event materials and lift up to 50 pounds
