Responsibilities
- Properly sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment following established protocols.
- Prepare sterilization areas and maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with infection control standards.
- Operate autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and other sterilization devices efficiently and safely.
- Document sterilization processes accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic.
- Assist dental staff with chairside assisting duties as needed, including passing instruments and managing patient flow.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical documentation.
- Maintain inventory of sterilization supplies and notify management when stock levels are low.
- Support overall infection control procedures within the dental clinic, including handling medical waste appropriately.
- Stay updated on current sterilization techniques, infection control guidelines, and relevant dental terminology.
Qualifications
- Registration as a dental assistant. New grads welcome.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for documentation purposes.
- Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment and perform vital signs measurement is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 36 per week
