ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Provides supervision and support to the students in the Summer Camp programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Valid Georgia Paraprofessional License OR Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate preferred
Certifications/License Required :
CPR and First Aid Certification (completed within 90 days from hire date)
10 Hours online Health and Safety training as required by Bright from the Start (completed within 90 days of hire date)
Experience :
Minimum of 2 years successful experience supervising children required
Certified teacher or Para Professional within the local school districts preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Supervises and instructs students in the Summer Camp programs and during daily planned activities. Creates and implements daily activities for assigned student group. Follows the daily schedule set forth by the Camp Coordinator.
- Manages student behavior within assigned group, accurately and immediately reports incidents to Supervisor onsite.
- Must keep accurate count of children at all times.
- Monitors and maintains accurate records within the attendance software when working the checkout desk.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and follows safety procedures set forth by Marietta Community School and Marietta City Schools.
- Communicates in a professional manner with all stakeholders.
- Conferences with parents regarding their students behavior within the program.
- Attends required trainings and participates in Summer Camp staff meetings when necessary.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Oral and written communication, student management, knowledge of site safety procedures. Must be able to participate in routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Dexterity to write on a board, operate a computer, and use other classroom technology.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Clear speech and hearing abilities for effective communication. Visual acuity to read printed and digital materials.
