What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist/Personal Banker St. Robert position at MARIES COUNTY BANK?
Working hours will be between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday and every sixth Saturday from 7:30am-11:00am.
General Statement of Duties: This position assists customers with all aspects of opening and maintaining personal and commercial accounts as well as, provides other customer services as needed. Receptionist/Personal Bankers greet customers as they enter the bank, direct customers to the proper departments, and assist with the distribution of incoming phone calls as needed. Upholding customer confidentiality is a must.
Essential Job Functions:
- Answers the main phone line, researches challenging customer inquiries and directs calls to other departments as needed.
- Greets callers and customers of the bank in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner.
- Professionally administers all incoming calls.
- Ensures phone calls are directed according to customer need.
- Answers customer inquiries about the status of various accounts over the phone.
- Transfers funds from account to account as directed by the customer.
- Opens all types of new accounts: personal and commercial checking, savings, CD’s, IRA’s, Money Markets, Debit Cards, etc.
- Actively cross-sells bank services to customers.
- Maintains proper documentation and follow-up correspondence for newly opened accounts.
- Orders business and personal checks and deposit slips.
- Closes accounts for customers as needed.
- Assists customers with safe deposit box needs.
- Assists customers with online banking password resets.
- Completes cross-app entries for the branch.
- Assists with instant issue debit cards by processing requests, printing cards, and balancing the account.
- Logs loan payments, writes up loan coupons, and delivers to the appropriate loan personnel.
- Ensures that Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) verifications have been completed correctly.
- Researches Falcon cases as needed & handles potential dispute cases with customers.
- Acts as a notary for the bank.
- Balances internal bank accounts as assigned.
- Repairs and balances proof as needed.
- Comprehends general ledger accounts/transactions.
- Prepares the main lobby according to opening and closing procedures.
- Collects and distributes mail.
- Maintains appointment books for conference rooms and log-in books for outside vendors.
- Monitors and collects funds from employees for jean days and soda account.
- Assists customers with problem resolution and upholds customer service guidelines.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties including photocopying, faxing and filing.
- Follows bank policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations at all times.
- Assists with the filing and record keeping of departmental information.
- Maintains departmental appearance, both personal and general.
- Serves customers in a cordial and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction with service provided by the bank.
- Takes advantage of opportunities to promote the Bank when involved in voluntary community activities and civic organizations to cross sell the Bank’s products and services.
- Completes other duties as assigned and assists in other areas of the bank such as working as a teller on Saturdays as needed.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year prior secretarial/switchboard experience preferred.
- One year prior experience in a financial environment preferred.
- Excellent command of the English language and grammar.
- Basic knowledge of the bank’s products and services preferred.
- Prior experience in a customer service environment preferred.
- Experience with calculators, standard office equipment, and PC software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
- Ability to utilize general office equipment such as copy machines, calculators, fax machines, etc.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Knowledge of computer systems and changing technology, including word-processing, spreadsheets, Internet, and internal bank software.
- Prior experience working within a team environment preferred.
- Demonstrated aptitude for accuracy with numbers.
