Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping experience, including product demos when applicable
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process transactions quickly and efficiently
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision, maintaining proper cash handling procedures
- Upsell products by recommending additional items that enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure a clean, inviting shopping environment
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support inventory management through stocking, product rotation, and inventory checks as needed
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience or familiarity with POS systems is preferred
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are highly valued
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math for sales calculations
- Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, including merchandising and stocking practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving merchandise
