As the Air Monitoring Management Analyst, you will serve as a valuable resource and a critical member of a large and diverse team committed to improving and protecting Maricopa County’s air quality.
In this role, you will be focused on providing professional-level research, analysis, and implementation of technology enhancements within the division in coordination with other county departments and vendors. You will utilize a variety of skills and technology to provide the vital link between the production of air quality data and its dissemination to our internal and external customers.

We Require
- Two years of professional analytical experience, which includes working with database systems, including data acquisition, evaluation, and system analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, communications, or a relevant field
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
- Two years of experience in air quality or air monitoring
- Advanced skills and experience using computer applications, including database management, data acquisition, and word processing software such as Microsoft Excel, to develop reports, charts, and analyses of data
- Experience working with federal air monitoring rules, regulations, and policies
- Experience working with state, local, and federal agencies
Job Contributions
- Update and maintain the division’s communication technologies, including communication with instruments, databases, websites, and outreach kiosks
- Create and update documentation relating to the division's maintenance of the AirVision Database, IMPACT Database, and outreach kiosks
- Research, develop, and recommend improvements of all division technology resource needs
- Research, document, and monitor procedural and workflow plans
- Operate a vehicle to install, maintain, or repair modems, kiosks, and computers
- Prepare technical reports and project summaries for distribution to stakeholders
Working Conditions
- Work will occur in an office and field environment
- Ability to lift up to 20-25 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly. Ability to move objects up to 25 pounds, lifting floor-to-waist, and pushing/ pulling up to 25 pounds
- While performing the duties & responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations while working in the field. Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
- Safety boots, earplugs, dust masks, safety glasses, and a hard hat may be required as protective equipment
- Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware: County Vehicle, compressors, pumps, power drills, multimeters, laptops, loggers, analyzers, gas bottles, and tablets
- Work is typically performed in an office environment and may include a combination of on-site and remote work at the discretion of the director and as determined by business needs after a 6-month initial training.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's License by time of hire
