Job Summary
The Academic Success Center at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a part time Math Learning Facilitator I. This position provides math tutoring in-person and online.
Essential Functions
90% - Provides in-person/virtual tutoring to students in the Math Success Center; works with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
10% - Provides student status and recommendations to the Program Coordinator; assists with workshops, class presentations and other student success activities; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion with an "A" grade, or “B” with instructor recommendation in MAT182 or MAT187.
- Knowledge of instructional methods used at Estrella Mountain Community College to teach math.
- Good communication skills and the ability to help students understand complex material.
- Patient and respectful of varying levels of student content knowledge.
- Successful completion (grade of “A” or “B” with instructor recommendation) in MAT212/213 or MAT220/221.
- Experience providing quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Incumbents will work in an in-person environment only.
