Job Summary
This is a short-term, benefits-eligible, full-time one-semester-only teaching opportunity for Spring semester 2026 beginning in January. The Computer Information Systems faculty member will help MCC offer students a variety of academic certificates and AAS degree programs in programming and data analytics. We provide these types of opportunities to our students to provide validation of student proficiency. The faculty provides innovative real-world approaches to teaching and learning and will help students learn programming techniques through coding as well as data analytics.

If you are hired into a one-year-only (OYO)/one-semester-only (OSO) benefits eligible position, once your assignment ends, you are ineligible for rehire into a part-time non-benefits eligible position (including Adjunct positions) or to continue working in a part-time non-benefits eligible position for a period of 26 weeks at the Maricopa Community Colleges.
Essential Functions
- Instructs students in classroom and lab settings.
- Develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; assesses student knowledge of subject matter; prepares and grades exams; maintains academic support hours to assist and advise students.
- Engages in the academic life of the college by participating in district-wide and campus committees and activities.
- Develops and enhances knowledge of the subject matter taught and individual training skills required to remain current with new trends and developments in the field and to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops.
Minimum Qualifications
The Occupational Teaching Fields require the following from an accredited college or university:
- A Master’s degree in the teaching field OR
- A Master’s degree in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field OR
- A Master’s degree in any field with a combination of 24 upper-division and/or graduate credits in
the teaching field (Upper-division courses are Junior and Senior level courses in obtaining a
Bachelor’s degree) OR
- A Bachelor’s degree and three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR
- Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught
Desired Qualifications
A. Practitioner-level experience in multiple Object-Oriented programming languages (such as Python, Java, and C#)
B. Practitioner-level experience in using descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
C. Experience teaching and using modern analytic tools
D. Experience in data management software (SQL, MySQL, or Access)
E. Experience in using different teaching/training modalities
F. Masters degree or higher
Special Working Conditions
Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving:https://district.maricopa.edu/regulations/admin-regs/section-4/4-14
May require numerous evenings or weekends
May require prolonged periods of standing and/or viewing a computer screen
May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
